Gimitiya Attri

Indentured workers from East India, which included places like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Chhota Nagpur Plateau, continued wearing the traditional attires that they had worn in their native villages.

Men wore their traditional Dhoti, Kurta and Pagri, and women wore Sari and a variety of jewellery- toe-rings, anklets, earrings, nose-rings and armlets. Successive generations have taken to European and American-style of clothing. However, they still wear their traditional Indian clothes on festivals and during communal gatherings.
